Cherry Red Lipstick

Oil on canvas panel, 6x6 -- View eBay Listing
Hello, everyone! I've been out of town lately, but managed to do some painting while gone. Here is one--cherries are in season and these matched my lipstick; hence, here is my newest still life. (I don't know where you would hang it though--in the kitchen? Near a vanity/dresser?) Oh, well, the new owner may do whatever she (or he?) wishes....

Red Yo-Yo

Oil on canvas panel, 6x6--$95
This is my daughter's yo-yo. Actually, it is one of six (I think). She's gotten the collection bug and is working on tricks (e.g., walk the dog, rock the baby). I used to know some of those--still remember the wonderful Duncan yo-yo I got from my grandparents in the Bronx. Oh, the memories....

Sax Appeal

Acrylic on canvas, 24x18 -- $1,000.00
This is hubby's sax from high school. It was actually used by Don Drachenberg (his brother-in-law) in the Texas rock group, The Triumphs (think--BJ Thomas). Anyway, thought I should post this--if someone is willing to pay the outrageous price for this painting, hubby will wish it well on its new journey.

Cherries Jubilee

Oil on canvas panel, 6x6--View eBay Listing
I love the play on words with the title of this. Figuring out what a party blowout is called was probably the most difficult research I've had to do in a while....

In Progress: Texas Swamp

Acrylic on canvas, 48"x48" -- In progress
This is my largest painting to date (other than a hall mural I did for a friend). Upon completion, this will hang in a local elementary school's library. (Getting it in the car for the journey should be interesting....) Obviously, it needs tweaking--especially the reflections in the water, the depiction of Spanish moss, and the shadows on the algae. I also plan to add a few native creatures to the scene as well (no, not The Creature)....

Needle and Threads, No. 2

Oil on cradled panel--6x6--Commission
I adore getting commissions. Working with a client creates such a special relationship to the artwork. This particular painting is a new version of #1. I included the lettering found on some old wooden spools belonging to my mom and, as this is a gift for the client's friend, I even included her upcoming birthday as the 4-digit shade number. (Wonder how long it will take for her to notice....) These added "touches" can truly make a painting special. Now I think I need to add some lettering on the original canvas version....
