Ad in American Art Collector

My first ad (look for the egg....)! This appears in the March edition of American Art Collector (page 29 to be exact--click on the picture above to view it in a larger format.) It is a privilege to be included with so many wonderful Texas artists. Check them out too, if interested.

Oil on canvas panel, 6x6--Contact me for purchase info.
I hate to admit this: this plump strawberry was originally covered in decadent dark chocolate. I couldn't get the proper color of brown mixed on my palette, so I peeled off the chocolate and promptly disposed of it (YUM), leaving this poor strawberry naked.

Empty Clamshells with Lemon

Oil on canvas mounted to panel, 6x6--SOLD
These succulent little morsels beckoned me from the seafood counter. They had JUST ARRIVED and I promptly whisked them home to steam. Needless to say, the painting began AFTER my feast.

Scotch Bonnet Seashell

Oil on canvas on panel, 6x6--View eBay Listing
We've had this seashell for years--it was found at the beach in either North Carolina or Florida (I can't remember which). I finally had to immortalize it.

Chocolate Kiss, No. 2

Oil on canvas on panel, 6x6--SOLD
Too late for arrival on Valentine's Day (without paying a boatload in shipping costs), but still good for your year-round sweetie (or sweet tooth).

Sunflowers with Lotus Pods

Acrylic on stretched canvas, 24x36--$500--Contact me for purchase information
This is an oldie, but goodie (I think) and the largest painting I've done to date. Though I began it in 2008, it has endured numerous tweaks since then. It is now finis.

Chocolate Cupcake with Cherry

Oil on canvas on panel, 6x6--$50--Contact me for purchase info.
This is a heavily texture piece in that the icing was done with heavy oil paint and a palette knife. Frosting a two-dimensional cupcake was no easy task! (Note: This appears darker than it is in reality--lighting conditions were poor at the time it was photographed. Also, it will require a little extra drying time before shipping due to the thickness of the icing. Please contact me for details....)

Maryland Blue Crab

Oil on canvas on panel, 6x6--SOLD.
I've been told that there are Texas blue crabs in the Gulf of Mexico, but I've yet to see or taste one in Texas. Maryland's crustaceans rule (especially with Old Bay seasoning)!

Bagel with Cream Cheese

Oil on canvas on panel, 6x6--$95--Contact me for purchase info.
This makes me hungry--trying to depict the cream cheese swirls created by the knife was not easy. Now, all this needs is some smoked salmon and fresh dill. Anyone know where I can find some GOOD bagels in Texas?

Lost Marbles, No. 3

Oil on canvas on panel, 6x6--$95--Contact me for purchase info.
I think I've truly lost my marbles revisiting these models for my daily paintings. Perhaps it's time to do a larger version for a REAL challenge.

Lost Marbles, No. 2

Oil on canvas on panel, 6x6--$95--Contact me for purchase information
I'm pleased with this second attempt of glass/spheres/dramatic lighting. As for the blue marble, though, I admit that I cheated by using my finger to create the swirls and softness of color. (However, it looks better than the actual marble model!) I promise that no clothing was ruined by my blue finger--this time.

Honey with Dipper

Oil on canvas on panel, 6x6--$95--Contact me for purchase information
I saw some bees the other day. Bees in January--go figure. Anyway, they inspired this painting. Sweet.
