Tootsie Pop: Inner Beauty

Acrylic on Masonite Panel, 6x6-- $75 to Purchase
I couldn't resist doing one more in this series. We all drool over physical attributes, but the inner ones are the ones that speak loudly, right? (Actually, chocolate shouts....)

Tootsie Pop Au Naturale

Acrylic on Masonite Panel, 6x6--$75 to Purchase
Hugh Hefner would be proud. My model was completely uninhibited this time, showing off every curve and that skinny limb. Brazen.

Tootsie Pop Exposed

Acrylic on Masonite panel, 6x6 - $75 to Purchase
Yesterday, my model was modest, reserved, quite shy in front of my panel. Today is another story--flamboyant and completely at ease while posing. What will tomorrow bring?

Empty Clam Shell, No. 4

Acrylic, 6x6--Bid on eBay
After tossing several irreparable paintings that just didn't meet my personal standards, I finally used one of my "tried and true" subjects: a clam. Note: If you look at the previous ones, you'll note that I am still fussing with backgrounds. I think this is the prettiest yet....

Sadie

Acrylic, 8x6--SOLD
I had the pleasure to recently attempt a pet portrait, no strings attached, from an e-mailed photo. The result, "Sadie," is shown. I am thrilled that her owners thought I had captured her likeness and I'm looking forward to more "attempts," including a portrait of my own puppy! Thank you for your vote of confidence!

Rainbow Trout on Ice

Acrylic on panel - 6x8 - $100 Click to purchase
I am obsessed with backgrounds lately (as some of you have already commented)! This time, I did something completely different--"encasing" a technically correct rainbow trout on (and in) ice cubes. It took a few hours to render the cubes; ultimately, I am quite pleased with the result and find the painting more interesting with this change.

Scallop Shell

Acrylic on Artists' Board, 6x6 --$75 to Purchase

Okay, this isn't my usual realistic style, but I haven't "practiced" in over a week. (Use it or lose it, right?) This is more impressionistic--maybe it will "speak" to someone out there.

Back in the Saddle

"Where have you been lately?" several people have inquired. Honestly, I've been in my studio every day; however, I temporarily changed from arts to crafts and was designing a recipe scrapbook for a cousin--on his own and hungry for real food--in Arizona. Needless to say, it took much longer than expected due to the helpful nature of my new puppy. I'm finally "back in the saddle" though, and will be posting new images tomorrow. Thank you for your patience!
