Happy Trails Banner Project

The Happy Trails Banner Project has begun! For the month of October, Georgetown, Texas will celebrate its role in the historic Chisholm Trail with 55 banners throughout the historic district. My banner (above) is in front of our public library (yippee!). Even better--I am the first artist listed in the program AND my banner is the starting point for the tour! (Can you tell that I am excited?) If you are in town, don't forget to vote for your fave. (The original painting is still available for purchase. Let me know if you are interested in details....)

Happy Trails - Final

Acrylic on Canvas, 24x12 $250--Purchase
Here is the final version of my "Happy Trails" painting for Georgetown's Chisholm Trail celebration this fall. The painting is being professionally scanned for a banner that will hang on or near the historic Square. The banner will then be on permanent display at our new high school. Please contact me if you are interested in prints, giclees, or the original painting.

Happy Trails

Graphite on paper, 12x6
Here's a sketch for the upcoming "Happy Trails" banner project sponsored by Georgetown Art Works. I'm thinking, "Good grub equals a happy trail ride." The drawing is based on photos I took last year of the chuckwagon competition held in San Gabriel Park. The background (very roughly sketched) will be based on some landscape photos I took in Fayette County where my beloved old farmhouse is located. This sketch has been submitted for approval; now the waiting game begins.
