Bay Oyster

Kristine Kainer
Oil on Canvas Panel (Museum Grade)
6x6

This little oyster shell has lots of purple areas on the inside which made it extremely unusual from those I typically encounter at raw bars and restaurants.  Of course, it came home with me to be immortalized in a painting.

NOTE:  I’m proud to have this painting represented online by UGallery. View my portfolio here: https://www.ugallery.com/Artist/Kristine-Kainer.

Mussel Shells

Oil on Gallery-wrapped Canvas
20 x 20
SOLD - Commissions Welcome

I like to steam my mussels with beer.  The liquid released by the mussels, combined with the beer and a few chopped shallots is quite divine!

Purple Oyster Shell

© Kristine Kainer 2014
6x6
Oil on Canvas
SOLD

This is a special oyster shell for an obvious reason:  the smooth inner shell (also known as the Mother of Pearl or nacre) is mostly purple.  Nature is full of surprises.  One just needs to pay attention....
