Oysters on the Half Shell with Lemon

Freshly shucked oysters can still be had--regardless of the time of year--here in Austin.  My mother, daughter, and I recently dined at Perla's on South Congress and, of course, ordered the oysters.  Lots of photos were taken (of the oysters, not the family).  These were part of my lunch....

Empty Clamshells with Lemon

These succulent little morsels beckoned me from the seafood counter. They had JUST ARRIVED and I promptly whisked them home to steam. Needless to say, the painting began AFTER my feast.
