Baseball

Oil on Gallery-Wrapped Canvas
24 x 24

This little baseball has been immortalized several times.  It was hit out of the park last year while we were leaving a Round Rock Express game (Triple-A Minor League) at Dell Diamond in Texas.  It practically rolled to our car.  Obviously, we had to take it home.

This is the largest baseball I've painted to date.  (Most are about 6x6 in size.)  It is wired for hanging.  Framing is optional.

Beach, No. 2

For this beach scene, I chose a different kind of panel--yesterday's was a smooth Ampersand one; today's is on a polyflax, cotton canvas mounted to a balanced wood panel by RayMar. The main difference is the amount of texture. The canvas shows its weave. However, for landscapes, I think I actually prefer the smoother board--it's cheaper, uses more paint, but gives the art a more "polished" look. Any thoughts?

Sandlot Baseball

We've had some gorgeous, balmy days here in Texas and some of my trees are beginning to bud. Though basketball season just began for my daughter, my thoughts are of Spring and, America's pastime, baseball. Hence, a baseball painting....
