This is the third (and final) Ampersand panel that had been collecting dust for awhile. What better way to commemorate the changes in my artistic career than by honoring the "quill" that gives me a voice? (Remember how I said that painting glass was difficult? So is painting metal!)

Iwent through an acrylic painting spree yesterday--I had three Ampersand panels in stock (and in need of "makeup." Acrylics just look luscious on a smooth surface. Anyway, I don't often drink wine, but I've noticed that finding a stopper made of cork is rare these days (maybe it's the amount I spend on a bottle that determines the type of stopper?????). Finding two made of cork in a drawer was a stroke of luck.

This enamelware coffee pot painting is based on a photo I took during a chuckwagon cook-off along the San Gabriel River in Texas. The pot was in actual use by the wagon's crew. Expect to see more of this subject--I took LOTS of pictures.

Mussel Shell

This is a remnant from New Year's Eve's gourmet lobster bake which was cooked on my wood-burning stove in Schulenburg. My husband was actually able to find clams and mussels in Georgetown, Texas earlier in the day. A friend from Houston brought the lobsters. Along with shrimp, red bliss potatoes, corn on the cob, artchoke hearts, and poached garlic cloves--all in a white wine-based broth, this was sheer gustatory magic!

Eggplant with Lemon--Round 2

Here I go again--fussing with backgrounds. I first did this painting in November. The background was greenish and DARK. The eggplant and its shadow "disappeared" due to the lack of contrast. Now, I've made the background more neutral, gave the lemon more texture, and messed with a few highlights. I officially consider this painting finis.

My Goof, Someone's Gain

I goofed. While relisting this painting on eBay, I entered $9 instead of $95 for the opening bid. In good conscience, I won't remove the listing--I made a mistake. My young daughter was highly amused when I realized this error.

Consider this a massive sale--if you bid, it will probably be FAR LESS than the price I had in mind. (For those who spent $95 or more on other pieces: please forgive me. I was distracted when I listed this and don't mean to devalue my work. I will be more conscientious in the future....) Happy bidding (I hope)!
