"When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock,
And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin' turkey-cock,
And the clackin' of the guineys, and the cluckin' of the hens,
And the rooster's hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;
O, it's then's the times a feller is a-feelin' at his best,
With the risin' sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest,
As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock."

Striped Pumpkin

Oil on Belgian Linen Panel
6x6

Here's another little charmer.  This pumpkin has, miraculously, survived on my desk for the past year.  It's time on this planet is limited, though.  Before saying "goodbye" and adding it to the compost bin, I chose to immortalize my little bulbous friend.  You made me smile!

Pumpkin Stem

Oil on Belgian Linen Panel
6x6

It may be near 100 degrees in central Texas, but I've already begun my autumn decorating.  You can take the girl out of New England, but you can't take New England out of the girl!

Pumpkins should arrive in a few weeks, but why wait?  This little charmer won't get mushy!

Witchhikers

Oil on Cradled Panel
6x6x5/8

While unpacking my fall decor, I came across this little painting I did in 2009.  I named it "Witchhikers" in a playful attempt to showcase the candy corn "hiking" on my daughter's Halloween witch hat.

Alas, it is time to find a new home for this piece to make room for new art.  I'm selling this on eBay at a sale price.   (Please note:  The white dots are a result of my shoddy photography work--I will reshoot, if anyone is interested....)

Pumpkin

It may be 90 degrees outside, but autumn has arrived in my heart!  Here's another little pumpkin painting for your enjoyment (and someone's seasonal decor).

Autumn Pumpkin

Oil on Cradled Panel (museum grade)
6x6
SOLD

Since moving to Texas nine years ago, I live for cold fronts.  After a 103 degree day on Friday (and scorchers in the previous weeks), my precious front finally arrived--bringing low humidity, temperatures in the upper 80s/low 90s, and thoughts of autumn.  Coincidentally, this little pumpkin found a new home in southern California too!  (Thank you, UGallery.com!)

The windows are now open (I don't care what the neighbors think), my hair looks great, my home is decorated for fall, and more pumpkins are on their way.  Life is good!

Autumn Pumpkin

Oil on Cradled Artists' Board, 6x6x3/4, View eBay Auction Listing

This darling little pumpkin is known as a "tiger strip pumpkin" due to its vivid orange stripes within the natural crevices.  I've definitely got Thanksgiving on my mind!

Pumpkin Posse

Oil on Belgian linen on panel, 6x6--$100--Contact Artist
Since I have little pumpkins scattered throughout my house for the autumn season, I thought I should make use of them in an artistic sense a few times. Happy Hallowe'en!

Candy Apple

Oil on cradled artists' board, 6x6 -- $100--Click to Purchase
Would someone please tell me to keep my grubby hands off my paintings once I've signed them? Hubby hated the original background for this--even though I explained that it looked foggy and, hence, creepy for the upcoming Halloween season. Unfortunately, others agreed with him. (I hate admitting that he may have had a point and spent additional time agonizing over this predicament.)
This effort "breaks up" the gloomy fog" with a simple, diagonal line SLICING THROUGH IT as a knife slices through butter. Can I get more "Halloweenie" than that?

Hitchhikers

Oil on cradled artist's board, 6x6 --$100 -- Contact Artist
I'm in Halloween mode, thanks to a ten-year-old who continues to try on her costume. Here is her witch's hat along with the ever-present candy corn at this time of year.

Candied Apple

Oil on cradled artists panel, 6x6 -- $100--Contact Artist
In honor of childhood memories and Halloween, here is my version of a candied apple. I tried to create that glossy, almost fluorescent surface and think I came pretty close. In addition, dentists of the world should rejoice--this painting is "easier on the teeth."
