This 7"x5" painting was a struggle. Manmade objects require much more precision than organic ones. Metal is also a challenge. Instead of a realistic approach, I would call this "impressionistic."

Rooster 2
This is a "blast from (my) past" painting when I attempted a "folk art" approach. I adore this rooster (and actually painted two like this--it would have looked great in my farmhouse.) Hopefully, both owners are thoroughly enjoying them.
Perhaps prints would be a logical next step? Who knows, this rooster may crow in other capacities!

My Art on Keds
This is my first encounter with the fashion industry. May I introduce the newest footwear on the block (drum roll, please): Keds "Sunflowers and Lotus Pods" Lace-Up Sneakers!!!
When ordering some Keds for Tori online yesterday(http://www.keds.com/), I saw that there is a "design your own" option. I came up with this. They are made to order and can be purchased on http://www.zazzle.com/ by anyone and everyone. (Designers get a 10% commission.) I think I'll be my first customer. Of course, you can use your own designs as well. WARNING: It can be addictive!

Peeled Banana
Yes, this was a creative departure--something I hadn't seen painted by other daily painters. I thought it was pretty good, put it on eBay, then, nothing. Yet, another artist practically copied it, posted it the following week, and sold it for "peanuts." Guess I should be flattered, but was a little miffed. Maybe I was too sure of myself....

Empty Clamshell
SOLD
This 6"x6" daily painting is of a clam that I enjoyed eating, scrumptiously stuffed, last year. My daughter insisted on saving it (along with several others) so that we could paint Santa faces in the concave parts. We actually did make "Santa Shells," but her artistic interest waned and I still have the "unadorned" shells. This is one of them....

Barn in Winter
This landscape depicts one of the large barns at our farm in Schulenburg, Texas. We had an ice storm there last winter and occasionally get a brief dusting of snow that always melts quickly. This painting is an attempt to make that winter scene last indefinitely.... $75 -- Purchase from artist

Sandlot Baseball
Silo in Winter
This is a rare landscape that I painted a couple of days ago. It was based on a photograph by my late first husband, taken over twenty years ago as we galavanted around Williamsburg, Virginia during a snowstorm in our new 4x4. I always thought it was an absolutely gorgeous scene and I finally tried to honor it with a painting. I think he would be pleased.... NFS

Bundled Asparagus
SOLD
Painting a group of vegetables can be intimidating. I finally overcame my "fear" and painted this bundled asparagus. Tedious, but worth the effort.

Farmhouse Doorknob
I enjoy all things rustic, whether it is an old, weathered barn or a rusty piece of ironwork. This 18"x14" acrylic painting is no exception--it depicts the door leading from the living room to the master bedroom in my old, 1928 farmhouse in rural Schulenburg, Texas. The patina of the bronze was a challenge as well as trying to make the knob, itself, look almost 3-dimensional. I think, though, that this painting captures a little bit of the character of my precious old house. In that regard, I succeeded. It is for sale through my website: http://www.kkartstudios.com/. (If it doesn't sell, that's okay, too....)
Fried Egg
I adore this painting. I actually fried an egg one morning for breakfast and loved how it got golden around the edges while the white puffed and puckered. Needless to say, I had to paint it. The pan was a challenge--I've never painted "silver" before. (I am thrilled that I found a client who likes this as much as I do!) I think I will revisit this subject....

Clam Shell No. 5
This painting is one of my few heavily textured ones. The water was sculpted with acrylic modeling paste and the sand is fine garnet gel. I then varnished the clam and the water for that "wet" appearance.
The image appears slightly blurry because I attempted to use my scanner to photograph it rather than a digital camera. The height of the water crests prevented me from getting a "good scan."
To bid on this daily painting or to view others currently on eBay, please click on the title to this post. Thanks for your interest!
