Skillet Fried Eggs

Oil on Canvas Panel
6x6
SOLD - Commissions welcome

This painting was inspired by an email inquiry.  Someone had seen a painting I did in 2009 and was interested in a print.  Alas, I didn't know how to photograph my art correctly at that time--any prints would have a low resolution.  Seven years later though, with a DSLR camera,  one of my favorite subjects, and (hopefully) and bit of improvement in my painting techniques, this painting was born and I now have a new client in Connecticut.  Thank you, Internet!

Owning an old farmhouse in the country has its perks. Fresh eggs are a major one! Here is one of those luscious eggs—complete with a luscious orange yolk—that I recently enjoyed for breakfast.

Frying Egg by Kristine Kainer

Oil on Gallery-Wrapped Canvas
20 x 20
Purchase Information

This egg is from my suburban chicken, Creampuff. Her eggs are exquisite (especially the golden yolks) and worthy of immortalization in art. This piece is on a gallery wrapped canvas and the painting continues around the sides. It comes ready to hang.

Breakfast: Bacon, Egg, and Buttered Toast

Copyright Kristine Kainer 2014
6x6
Oil on Canvas
Purchase Information

It's the weekend--time ease into the day with the sights, sounds, and aroma of bacon sizzling in the black cast iron skillet, eggs gently frying in a melted dollop of butter on the next burner, and bread in the toaster turning a golden brown.  Just add orange juice (sorry, I still don't like coffee), a newspaper, and fluffy slippers--the perfect start to the day!

Cracked Egg

© Kristine Kainer 2014

Oil on Canvas
SOLD

What did you have for breakfast this morning?  Hopefully, it was something delectable and nutritious like an egg.  Did you know that the vitamins, minerals, protein, and antioxidants from an egg aid in brain function, muscle strength, weight management, and sustained energy?  I never truly thought about it.  Sounds like a "no-brainer" to me.  Guess what I am having for breakfast tomorrow?

Eggs for Breakfast

SOLD

Thanks to my last blog bestowing accolades on the incredible egg, I have been craving them day and night.  This painting was today's breakfast (yes, two eggs--I couldn't resist).  They are from my two chickens--organic, free range, etc.  What could be more scrumptious?

Miniature Painting/ACEO Art Card #10 - Sunny Side Up

Acrylic on Bristol Series 300
2.5 x 3.5
SOLD

I love my fresh eggs--especially cooked in butter!  This egg, fresh from a neighbor's farm, was savored bite by bite early one morning with some homegrown, sauteed tomatoes on the side.  Mmmmmm....

ACEO/Art Cards - Sunny Side Up

Sunny Side Up
3.5 x 2.5
SOLD

As I mentioned yesterday, I have several irons in the fire.  Greeting cards (in the infancy stage) are a new way to introduce people to my art.  An even more exciting approach (in my opinion, of course) is my line of "art cards" which feature ORIGINAL works of art.

Art cards, also known as ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions and Originals) are miniature original artworks that equal the size of baseball cards (3.5 inches x 2.5 inches). They can be collected, used as actual cards, given as gifts, or even framed and enjoyed for years to come.  (Ultimately, I hope my works will enjoy the latter idea.)

I began selling art cards on eBay (a common locale for ACEOs) a few weeks ago and have gained many new clients, both here and abroad. A few have purchased more than one for their own personal use.  Needless to say, I am quite pleased with the initial results.

I will post more of these little paintings in the coming days/weeks/months and provide links to the pieces that are currently available.

Enjoy!

Bacon and Eggs

Oil on canvas panel, 6x6 - SOLD

Hello, World! I've been enjoying summer break with my family and have neglected my artistic endeavors. With the new school year starting in less than a month, I will probably continue my sporadic painting as I refresh myself for future "masterpieces."

This little painting is of one of my favorite breakfasts (other than an IHOP hot fudge sundae--yes, I said "breakfast.") Enjoy!
