Artichoke Half

Oil
16 x 20

What does one do with excess paint on one's palette?  Use it in a colorful way, of course!

One of my favorite vegetables is the artichoke.  Whenever I've cut one in half, I've always been awed by the amazing formations within--the leaves, the choke, and the delicate heart--all nestled along a vertical axis.  It is truly stunning.  Thus, this painting attempts to celebrate the innate beauty of this delicious thistle in a vibrant way.  Mmmmmmmmmm.

Miniature Painting/ACEO Art Card - Cayenne Peppers

Acrylic on Bristol Series 300
3.5 x 2.5
SOLD

Garden produce!  I think I am growing 8 different kinds of peppers with ratings that run the gamut on the Scoville scale.  These cayennes are a  mere 30-50,000 heat units.  That's NOTHING here in Texas!

Eggplant

Oil on canvas panel, 6x6 -- Commission

Here is the final painting of a five-painting commissioned series.  The eggplants at my nearby grocery store were pathetic; hence photos and two previous eggplant paintings I've done were my references.  (Unfortunately, that means there is nothing for me to eat!!!) The photo of the artwork (above) does not do justice to the rich, deep jewel tones of the flesh;  trust me, though, they are there.

Tomato

Oil on Canvas Panel, 6x6 -- Commission

Here is painting number 3 in a five-painting commissioned series.  How I dearly miss tomatoes from my own garden!  Still, this model served me well.  With a little sea salt, it was a juicy snack.

Green Bell Pepper

Oil on canvas panel, 6x6 -- Commission

This is painting #2 in a five-painting commissioned series.  I think I will stuff the model and eat it for dinner tonight!

Red Onion

Oil on Canvas Panel, 6x6--Commission

This is the first painting of a five-painting commission for a client in Montreal.  I like the idea of a "permanent garden" in one's kitchen--especially at this time of year!

Red Bell Pepper

Oil on canvas panel, 6x6 - View eBay Listing
Can anyone tell me why red bell peppers are more expensive than green ones in the supermarket?
