Miniature Painting - Red Onion

Okay, I have a thing for onions.  I actually rummage through the bins at the grocery store looking for tattered models; onlookers must think I am insane.

Red Onion

Oil on Canvas Panel, 6x6--Commission

This is the first painting of a five-painting commission for a client in Montreal.  I like the idea of a "permanent garden" in one's kitchen--especially at this time of year!

I adore painting onions. This is my first attempt using oils. The amazing part? I like the background. No fiddling with this one!

Red Onion

Each time I buy a red onion, my husband decides to eat it before I have a chance to paint. I hid this one for a day in my studio. (Watch it rot in the bin, now that I don't need it anymore!)
